At the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) we believe that AIDS can be beaten. We act on that belief by raising funds for evidence-based programs and policies, and also by speaking out with honesty and compassion about the realities of people’s lives. HIV can be treated, it can be prevented, it can be ended, but only if we care. As much as the fight against HIV is a fight to win attention and funding from governments, it’s also a struggle within each of us to speak out, take action, and show compassion. The past 30 years of the response against HIV has been all about that: our honesty, our courage, our love.
