WHY IT MATTERS
AFESIP Cambodia works to care for and secure the rights of those victimized by human trafficking and sex slavery, and to successfully rehabilitate and reintegrate survivors into mainstream society through financial independence in a sustainable and innovative manner. Somaly House, located in Kompong Cham province, is AFESIP Cambodia’s long-term rehabilitation home for girls under the age of eighteen or who are still completing high school. Operational since 1998, it accommodates over 60 girls in a scenic rural setting near the Mekong riverbank. It offers a peaceful environment reminiscent of many survivors’ home provinces. Residents are provided food, clothes, and school supplies and attend public school. Your redemption provides rice for a resident for 1 day at the house.
